I too want to be the coolest kid on the block!
How do I go about doing this?
Simple. Get yourself one of our motorized bikes then start cruising your hood.
Can anyone buy and ride these motorized bikes?
No. You must be 18 years old to buy one of our bikes.
To ride a motorized bike, you must be sober, wear a helmet and obey all the traffic laws.
Hey I have a bike, can you put a motor on it for me?
Maybe. Your bike must certain size requirements in order to mount a motor.
V-frame cruiser bikes work best. We like coaster brakes the best because it's less confusing to stop in an emergency.
Mountain bikes will work, but remember the shifter grips will need to be modified/moved for the throttle grip to go on and you will have to work the clutch and brake handle on the left side of the handlebars.
Also in some cases holes will need to be drilled into the frame to mount the motor, so high end, expensive bikes should not be used.
Why can't I just buy a motor from you and put it on my bike?
You can, we want more bikes on the road.
There is certain amount of mechanical aptitude to mounting a motor on a bike, some people just don't have the skills, tools or time.
Understanding bicycle mechanics and small engines are required to successfully getting your bike rolling.
Can you repair my bike or sell me parts?
Yes. Even though these Chinese motors are tough as nails they will eventually need repairs and new parts. We can repair and maintain your bike, or we have back up parts if you wish to do the repairs yourself.
Are they legal to ride on the road in North Carolina?
Yes. These 47.7 cubic centimeter (CC) pedal assist motors are legal to ride the roads in North Carolina without a license, registration or insurance. The driver must be 18 years old, sober, wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws.
Remember: All Traffic Laws Apply To These Bikes
Will the bike push me up the hills?
Yes. However these are only 47.7cc("50cc") motors and your weight and the bike come into play. You are not going to fly up the steep hills at 25mph, but it will push you up it. On the very steep hills we do a little pedaling to help the motor and get a little exercise.
What's the gas mileage?
It depends, we generally get 150+mpg on ours because of the mountains. Again the bike, your weight and driving habits will factor in on your mpg.
How do you start it and what kind of fuel does it take?
You start the motor by pedaling up to approximately 5mph and let out clutch and keep pedaling until it starts. Once started, pull in the clutch and let it warm up for a minute or two. Not as complicated as it sounds, really.
These two stroke motors take a gas/oil mixture of 20 parts gas to 1 part two cycle oil.
Isn't putting a motor on a bicycle cheating?
Sure it is, but wearing shoes to cushion your feet when you walk is also cheating. Those people are probably jealous they don't have a motorized bicycle.
